Housewives stars lock lips over gay award | Headlines | News | Gay.com UK: "After talking down rumours over her sexuality, Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross sparked furious tabloid attention over the weekend by kissing a co-star during an awards ceremony.

Cross, who plays Bree Van Der Kamp in the hit Channel 4 series, appeared on stage with co-star Felicity Huffman at the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

And in a nod to the attention she received when an internet rumour suggested the actress was a lesbian, she used the opportunity to kiss Huffman to the shock of the audience.

Cross has denied she is a lesbian, but admitted that she found the rumour mill that briefly surrounded her 'amusing'.

The annual ceremony aims to reward those in the public eye who have supported or portrayed positively the LGBT community.

Winners included TV show Six Feet Under for best drama and biopic Kinsey for best film.

Director Bill Condon received an honorary award for achievement, while Liza Minnelli was given a 'Vanguard' award.

The second branch of the awards ceremony will take place in San Francisco next month."
